Make Me Pretty, EP 2

After weeks of intermission, its finally here!

Tonight we present to you our first ever two-part radio drama series entitled "Make Me Pretty", an original Dear Black Girl Narrative.

This play is geared towards Black girls between the ages of 10 and 12, discussing the issues of colorism within the Black community, while occurring on a school's playground.

Despite the fact that the target audience are young Black girls, the young at heart can still enjoy this piece we have put together.

Without further ado, here's episode 2 of "Make Me Pretty".

Who Taught You To Hate Yourself?

Good morning beauties,

It's Wednesday, April 13, 2016. There will be no other day like this in the universe - so make it count.

This morning we are happy to share that our small project that we have been working on for the last 3 weeks is finally completed and ready to be exposed to the world - YOU, our listeners. We hope that you will be touched by it as we were certainly moved by the outcome of it all. Stay plugged into the blog for more! The release will be sooner than you think!

With that being said, we'd like to leave you with our usual weekly dose of encouragement from an original Black activist himself, Malcolm X, whose words flowed like streams of living waters to motivate the Black community and all persons of color.

Who taught you to hate yourself?

Love yourself, Black girl. No one else will do it for you.

Peace & love,
DBG

Thursday's Reminder: Black Girls Rock!

WE'RE BAAAAAAACK!

Well... not exactly. BUT we're back for this short time!

The ladies of Dear Black Girl have been cooking up something special for you guys - due to be released some time next week! Stay posted to the blog for more soon to come!

With that being said, we hope you ladies are having a beautiful rainy Thursday morning. According to old fables, rain represents showers of blessings; so get ready to be blessed abundantly today even if it's only small mercies (like waking up this morning to read this post lol).

We want to bless you even the more today by leaving you with an inspiring song by one of favourite Black songstresses Jazmine Sullivan. Remember that you are a work of art & masterpiece.

Stay strong, Black girl; stay beautiful & stay independent because Black girls rock!
